Brian Holt

Brian Holt is a Principal Technical Program Manager at Microsoft on the Azure Postgres team, where he works on developer tooling like the VS Code PostgreSQL extension and AI agents that keep production databases healthy without waking anyone up at 3am. He came to product from a decade of engineering at Netflix, Reddit, LinkedIn, Stripe, Snowflake, and Neon, a route that left him with equally strong opinions about React rendering and query planners.

He is also a longtime instructor at Master.dev (formerly Frontend Masters), where he has published more than thirty courses on React, databases, Linux, and the general craft of shipping software. He lives in Seattle with his wife, two small kids, and a fourteen-year-old Havanese named Luna. He is also a minority investor in Serie A club Cagliari Calcio, which he considers a legitimate professional justification for watching Italian soccer at six in the morning.
